Due to the differences in the formalities required to make a Will between England and Scotland, the legal legitimacy of an English Will needs to be validated by a solicitor practising within the jurisdiction within which it was made.
In order to review the English will for you and advise whether there is anything inconsistent with English Law, the original Will and any Codicils need to be seen first hand for inspection.
Using details taken from the death certificate, an opinion letter can then be produced and the Will endorsed prior to being returned.

We have over 25 requests a year for Legal Opinions, many from returning clients.
We charge a fixed fee of £225 + VAT for giving the Opinion, (Fixed until December 30th 2024) plus the cost of special delivery to return the original documents with the signed Opinion. This varies depending on your location and is between £6.75 and £9.
